Coronavirus antibody testing

IgG antibody testing shows the counterreaction your body has had after coming into contact with the virus. Most people develop antibodies between the second and third week of the illness after developing symptoms.

It is possible to have the COVID-19 disease, caused by the coronavirus, without having any symptoms or displaying only mild symptoms. This can be detected by analyzing the blood for antibodies.

Even though the existence of antibodies indicates that the person has had COVID-19, there is currently insufficient information on whether the antibodies grant immunity.

The blood used to perform the antibody analysis is drawn from the vein.
